Suppose the SPI is calculated as less than 1.0. Is this good news for the project or bad news? Why?
This would probably be viewed as
bad news. A performance index of
less than 1.0 indicates that the project, based on current EV and PV
information, is not progressing at the planned rate. Depending upon how much less than 1.0 the SPI is, the
project’s schedule could either be marginally or significantly delayed.
